STANDING STILL

This is one of those moments in time when I must stand very still in my mind and my heart. I must place my faith in God and trust that this to shall pass. To all those who are serving their country and those who are standing still waiting, Godspeed.

NANCY ANN MUFFIE 8" WALKER DOLL 1950s

Vintage 1950s
Nancy Ann Muffie Doll

This is my adorable Muffie doll.  She was made in the 1950s by the same folks that made Nancy Ann dolls.  Muffie is 8" tall and is a walker doll.  Her head turns as her legs move.

When I got Muffie she was naked and in need of some care and of course an outfit.
I made her a cute blue with white polka dots dress.  I gave her new panties, socks, shoes and a slip.  She even got a new bracelet,  some flowers and I topped her off with a pretty matching bow in her hair.

She turned out really cute and I am happy to add her to my small collection of dolls.  I do not collect many dolls but I like to have a few around.

PLAYING WITH MY NANCY ANN DOLLS

Playing with my vintage
Nancy Ann dolls

I like to play with my dolls from time to time.
Recently I made new outfits for two of my little Nancy Ann dolls.

I gave the blond Nancy Ann a beautiful woodland ballet outfit complete with woodland wings.
She has lots of ribbons and bows.  She is holding a woodland bunny and some flowers.  I think she looks adorable.

I also gave her two vintage flocked deers and a beautiful bottle brush tree.

I gave my dark haired Nancy Ann a beautiful summer dress.  I made a matching summer bonnet for her.  She is holding a cupcake purse and some flowers as well.  She looks really cute in her polka dot dress.

I gave her two pretty kitty cats and a vintage noise maker that sounds like a cat when you turn it over.  She even has on a little white slip under her dress.

They are best friends!

I really enjoyed making new outfits for my dolls and dressing them up.  Even big girls can play dolls from time to time.

See you soon,

NANCY ANN DOLL FUN WITH OUR FRIENDS

Here is one of my Nancy Ann dolls hanging out with her kitty cats by the Easter house.
Doesn't she look cute? See kitty cats in previous post.

This particular Nancy Ann is from the days of the week collection and she is Sundays Child.
If anyone knows anymore about her please leave a comment.

NEEDLE FELTED PINK KITTY CAT

I have really develop a love for needle felting and I was inspired to make this pretty cat. My DD has a little cat that looks something like this one which was my inspiration. I love her vintage binding ribbon. She is standing on a vintage kitty cat noise maker. It is one of those that you turn upside down and then flip it back up and it makes a sound. It is adorable. Also in the picture is a little kitty that I purchased at Hobby Lobby and then I dressed it up in a vintage pink plastic hat and ribbons and a flower. She turned out cute. She was also my inspiration to make a cat. Both of the kitty cats belong to my vintage Nancy Ann dolls.
If you are interested in buying the noisy maker I got it off Etsy. The shop is called dollsandlace. I hope the nice lady there won't mind my sharing. She also has lots of other cool kitschy items. Click here to see her shop

A very cute Nancy Ann Doll of mine.

VINTAGE PAPER MACHE BUNNIES

Vintage Paper Mache Bunnies

I love all things vintage and that includes paper mache.  These sweet bunnies were not it the best shape so I cleaned them up and gave them each a fresh coat of paint.  I wanted them to look like a girl and boy so I painted one pink and one of them blue.  Then I added a vintage ribbon binding bow around their neck and accented the bow with flowers.  They are just so precious.  They look like they are kissing.

Here is my pink girl.

And here is my little blue boy

Aren't they sweet!!!

MY VALENTINE'S DAY PRESENT

Happy Valentine's Day To Me
My DH bought me this Cider set for my Valentine's Day present. I have not had a chance to take pictures of it until now but I wanted to show it off. The Cider Pitcher is quite large and has a Bavarian mark. There are actually 6 cups that are all marked T&V Limoges. This set is beautifully hand painted. I just love it.
Thank you Baby.....

VINTAGE LAMB MUG AND BOTTLE BRUSH TREE

This is one of my vintage mugs.
This one is the Lamb.
I put a lovely bottle brush tree inside the mug for a nice Easter display.
I think they look cute together.

VINTAGE MUGS FIND THEIR MATCH

This has got to be the coolest thing ever. I like to collect those Re-Ment Miniatures from Japan. Well I have a little kitchen set that has vintage looking dishes in it and the tiny mugs you see in the picture are from that set. These miniatures were produced in the last year or so. Now the BIG mugs you see are actual vintage items that date from around the 1950's. They are marked Japan on the bottom. If you look at the photo you will see that the tiny Re-Ment Miniatures are identical to my vintage mugs. The vintage mugs actually came four in a set and I have all four. There was a bunny, lamb, duck and chick. The Re-Ment Miniatures only had the duck and chick in the set. I was so tickled when I realized my new old store stock Mugs matched my miniatures.

If you have never seen Re-Ment Miniatures look them up on eBay or on Etsy. They are the most fabulous miniatures ever. They are high quality and oh so sweet, but be careful you may have to have a few sets.

TINY PINK NEEDLE FELTED BEAR

Tiny Pink needle Felted Bear

I love to needle felt and I am self thaught.  I learned watching some videos and by just jumping in and doing it.

My lastest creations is the tiny pink bear that is so small he fits right inside one of those plastic Easter eggs.   He has glass eyes and sports a vintage seam binding ribbon bow around his neck.  His head, arms and legs move so that he can be posed.

Here I have him sitting on a tiny antique Limoges butter pat with his pink egg.

  Isn't he adorable!

Having fun needle felting!
Have you tried it yet?

TEAL BLUE BOTTLE BRUSH WREATH

Teal Blue Bottle Brush Wreath

I love vintage bottle brush decorations.

I am so excited!!!

I just got my newest Bottle Brush Wreath today.  It is so fabulous!  It is teal blue and has heavy flocking and mica on it.  It came with the original box and in great condition.  I did have to clean it up.  I simply gave it a little spray with some cleaner and a bit of bleach (I took a chance, this could have been a disaster).  This brought the flocking back to a beautiful snowy white color as it had yellowed a bit with age.  I also gave it a new bow and I may try to find one that is more of a teal blue later on but I had this beautiful blue on hand.  I think it looks really nice with the wreath.  This is actually the nicest bottle brush wreath I have and it is of course my new favorite.  Oh and I painted a wreath stand that I have a teal blue to match the wreath.  Aren't they lovely together.  I am just so tickled to have this new wreath.

Bottle Brush Wreaths bring back memories of Christmas as a child for me.  They also good well with any Shabby Chic decor.  Just lovely!!!!

Here is a photo of the back of my new wreath.

I just love it with the stand I painted to match.

This is going to look fabulous with my Blue Christmas decorations!

See you soon,

HAPPY EASTER - DECORATING AND CRAFTING

Happy Easter

Decorating and Crafting

Easter in my most favorite Holiday.  There are many things I love about Easter and I especially love to decorate for this time of the year.  The Spring colors are my favorite colors, pinks, blues and soft pastels have always been special to me.  I adore all the bunnies, chicks and the nostalgia of Easter as a child.

This year I made a Bunny Tree Topper.  I found this bunny at one of my favorite spots and he was plain white and in need of some TLC.  So I bought him home and I made him into a wand, painted him pink and decorated him with all sorts of lovely goodies.  I thought about selling him in my booth but then I fell in love with him and he found a home on the top of my Easter Tree.  He just hopped right up there.

Isn't he adorable.....

The tree is a small pink one that I decorate for
almost ecery Holiday.

Having fun decorating.

SERENDIPITY

Serendipity

Recently I made this sweet little Blue Bird.  She started out as something totally different and she ended up better than I had thought she would, so I named her Serendipity.

Here she is without her bonnet.

Her bonnet is made from felt and it ties around her neck so that it can be removed.  I may have to make her other hats later.   Her head moves so I can pose her.  I also made a white wool felt nest for her and I gave her a sweet pink egg cup so she would have her very own home.

Here she is from the back.

She has a vintage seam binding ribbon bow around her neck with tiny vintage flowers.  I love how her needle felted eyes turned out.  She really reminds me of the bluebirds you always see in Disney movies although she is my own creation.

Still having fun with my needle felting.

BOTTLE BRUSH TREES

Here are my new bottle brush trees. I found these on clearance and I had to pick them up. I have three and they are all different sizes. The tallest one is about 14" tall I think. They each have a vintage putz styled paper house as a stand. My DD said that they were weird - who puts a tree on their house? teehee I had to laugh so I told her that the houses were stands and she say oh okay. I think she still thinks it is weird but I love them. Somehow somewhere along the way I have collected quite a few bottle brush trees. I just love them and I have a hard time passing them up.
This is not the best picture but at least you can get the idea. The smallest one has a pink house, the middle sized one has a blue and the large one has a white house. Toooooooo cute!

SOMETHING NEW BUT OLD

Vintage Knee Hugger Bunny Elf Dolls

I have wanted these little cuties for some time now. Just like everything else I usually want these go for a lot on eBay. I found these precious babies in an online shop and I jumped on them. I got them for a great price and I am happy to have them. These are kind of like the Elf or Pixie Knee Huggers that we all had on our Christmas Trees back in the 60s. However, these are sweet pastel bunnies that are sleeping. I have a precious pink, blue and yellow. I just love these babies.

MORE NEEDLE FELTING - BUNNY AND A BIRD

I had to play with my wool and needle felt some more babies. Here you see my new yellow bird. She has her own nest and lots of sparkle eggs and flowers. She is a very light yellow so it doesn't show up in pictures very well.

Here is a close up of my bird.

This is a picture of my bird with her purple Bunny friend. Aren't they sweet together?

Here is a close up of my purple Bunny. She has a ducky Easter basket and lots of flowers and beads. She is a cutie pie for sure. Her name is Candy.

Last but not least here is a new picture of my Easter Shelf (that is what I am calling it now) with my new babies on it.

LITTLE VINTAGE SNOW GIRLS

Well look at these little cuties. I found these recently and I could not resist. They are so sweet. They are made of Styrofoam, spun cotton, paper and fabric. They are flocked as well. These little cuties are from the 60s and I am so happy to have them.

MY PIXIE BABY

While taking pictures of my wreath today I had to stop and take one of my Pixie Baby. She is holding all sorts of Valentine's Day goodies. She is a vintage doll that I got off eBay. I love this little girl.

VINTAGE BOTTLE BRUSH WREATH

Vintage Bottle Brush Wreath

Just a short time ago, I posted pictures of my new vintage pink Harold Gale Santa and I said that I hoped to find a pink bottle brush wreath to go with him.  Well I did find one recently and here are some pictures of it.  It is a beautiful wreath but I must say it was not so beautiful when it arrived.  Although it was in great shape it was extremely dirty.  Matter of fact it did not even look pink.  The flocking was almost brown and the wreath looked like a dirty tan color.  Anyway, I cleaned it up but unfortunately the flocking could not be saved.  It was terrible.  So I re-flocked it and gave it new mica . I think it turned out lovely.  I do plan to do more work on the flocking at a later date.  Here is my wreath with my pink Santa.

Here is my wreath hanging on a vintage bird cage stand.     I think I will keep this beauty out all year round.

And I am one happy girl,

Beverly
